5.A Nucleus

The nucleus is the distinguishing feature of the eukaryote. The word eukaryote comes from the Greek “eu” meaning “well”, and “karyos” meaning “kernell” or “nutted”. Together, eukaryote means “well nutted” or “true nucleus”, meaning all eukaryotes have a membrane-bound nucleus. This is as contrasted with prokaryotic cells that don’t have a membrane-bound nucleus.
