2.A Ionic bond

The ionic bond are electrostatic forces between ions.

When an element has more/fewer electrons (-) than protons (+), it becomes an ion (i.e. charged). Positive ions are known as cations. Negative ions are known as anions.

In the ionic bond, one element donates electron(s) to another element.
