Introduction

Administrative law is laws that govern the activities of government agencies. This can include tribunals, commissions, and police.

The law of administration is predominantly that of administrative and judicial review, that permit and limit the reviewability of decisions made by administrative law bodies.

Administrative review investigates the correctness of the decision itself.

Judicial review investigates the correctness of the method in which the decision was arrived at. This may include whether the administrative action was ultra vires (beyond the jurisdiction of the decision maker) or that the decision was patently unreasonable.
