Percent of a number
To calculate the percent of a number, you simply multiply the fraction version of the percentage with the number.
For example, 51% of 300 is, i.e.:
Alternatively, you can multiply the decimal version of the percentage with the number, i.e.:
Remember that “of” (in English) means multiply in mathematics.
